Kampala City Tour
Our company representative and driver guide will pick you up from your residence or hotel to go for the Kampala City Tour. You will visit the Namugongo Martyrs' Shrine that commemorates the twenty-two Ugandan Christians burnt alive between 1885 and 1887 by the then King of Buganda, the late Kabaka Mwanga — one of the major pilgrimage and tourist sites. You will visit Lubaga Cathedral on Lubaga Hill, the mother church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Kampala, with grand architecture and interior. The Gaddafi Mosque, atop Kampala Hill overlooking the city centre, offers an insight into Islam and art as well as the best cityscape view of Kampala. You will visit the Lubiri (Kabaka's Mengo Palace), the official residence of the King of Buganda on Mengo Hill — the Kampala city tour is not complete without a visit to the palace. Namirembe Cathedral, founded in 1890, stands majestically on Namirembe Hill, a spiritual heartbeat with stained glass honouring the Uganda Martyrs and kings. Finally, the Bahai Temple — one of only eight continental worshipping houses of the Bahai Faith — sits on a hill overlooking several suburbs of Kampala, with lush lawns, trees and flowery plants teeming with birds and butterflies. After your day tour, you can choose to spend the evening at the Ndere Cultural Centre for entertainment through cultural dances, or drive back to your residence, which marks the end of your safari.
