Gorilla trek in Volcanoes · Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village · Golden monkey trek
A short trip from Kigali that combines a mountain gorilla trek with a golden monkey trek and a visit to a cultural village near Volcanoes National Park. Ideal if you have limited time but want both wildlife and a real taste of Rwandan culture.
Pick-up from Kigali Airport or your hotel. Visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, then drive about 2.5 hours through the green hills to Musanze near Volcanoes National Park. In the afternoon, visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village for traditional dance, drumming and village life.
Early breakfast and transfer to the Kinigi park office for the briefing. Trek into the forest to find your assigned gorilla family and spend one hour with them. Return to the lodge to relax, or take a short walk in the area.
Morning trek to see the playful golden monkeys in the bamboo forest. After lunch, drive back to Kigali for your flight or onward journey.
