Volcanoes National Park is just a 2–3 hour drive from Kigali, making Rwanda one of the easiest places to see mountain gorillas. Families live on the slopes of the Virunga volcanoes.
After a morning briefing at Kinigi, groups of up to eight trek to their assigned family and spend one magical hour with them.

- Permits are limited — book early, especially June–September
- Minimum age is 15 years
- Porters are available and support local families
